Izumi was born in a very poor district somewhere outside of the great villages, as a result, he was at a very young age reduced to slave labor to produce money for his family. The labor that the boy worked produced a few scars on his face, giving him a rather rugged look at first glance. Though he's not particularly big, he does have well defined muscle tone due to his line of work. His hands are very rough and callused from working in mines and in the desert. Growing into a young man, Izumi would finally be freed of slavery, taking his chances with the academy, which was free at the time for Suna ninja.

After joining the academy, he would be given a set of tan goggles that he never wore. His outfit changed as well, switching from tattered clothes to more mainstream clothing. He would wear robe-like outfits to better suit the harsh climate of the Wind Country. Later on, he would change to a red robe with black shorts. Making sure to keep his hair nice and short at all times. Beneath his robe-top, he would wear a flakjacket similar to that of an ANBUs. Having no pockets or slots on it for carrying items, he had no need to wear it above anything. He wears black and white sandals and gloves with the Sand Symbol emblazoned upon them.

Personality: Izumi was born into a world of slavery, causing him to be cold, calculating and introverted in all things. While he's not evil, he has no problems with dirtying his hands. Unlike many shinobi, he never actually went to the Academy, being drafted immediately into the sand village's shinobi army. Living more of his life in slavery and on the battlefield than in the company of friends and other people his age, he has been fairly desensitized to death and its mechanics. He feels as though death is something that happens when it's necessary. He doesn't care who will win the war very much, but wants it to be over fairly soon. Having only one real friend throughout his entire life, he doesn't really know how to make more, sometimes being awkward in conversation and saying things that aren't particularly anyone else's business.

All in all thoug, Izumi is a fairly good guy. He doesn't want bad things to happen to people and will try and prevent them at all costs. However, when things happen, he's not one to dwell on them, moving on fairly quickly.

Background:
Izumi was an unlucky 3^rd son of the Yoshi family. At the time of his birth, he was taken from the Kaminari no Kuni to do slavery when he grew to an age that was appropriate for such work. It was at about the age of 7 that he was taken to work in a slavery camp where there were plenty of other children, few of which looked similar to him. Back in the Kaminari no Kuni, where he was from, there were many shinobi that shared his skin color, however wherever he was now seemed to have all types of races and peoples. The only thing that was constant was the horrid rain. A constant climate that seemed to go on, day in and day out.

Years down the line, the slave camp would be liberated by several Shinobi who bore the symbol of an hourglass on their apparel. It was a symbol which he had grown to love at first sight, meeting a Shinobi from the village on the same day that the camp was liberated. Begging the woman to take him with her back to Suna, he would swear his allegiance to the village, hoping that he would be able to become an amazing Shinobi by training under her or any other shinobi in the village. The woman would reluctantly accept, granting the boy the chance to travel with her back to the sand village.

Due to his young age, he was very impressionable. Seeing many performers on the way to the village, he would come across a puppeteer who gave shows to wandering travelers. Taking an immediate interest in the puppetry, the woman would notice this, teaching the boy the art of ninja puppetry. It was a skill that he spent quite a bit of time on, becoming very fluid in his movements, able to easily compare his taijutsu prowess to anyone who focused equally as hard on something as simple as taijutsu. Along with this, due to his advanced skill at such a young age, he would be drafted into the military before even joining the academy, reaching the rank of Genin without actually going through any particular training. They needed him, after all, he was the last Puppeteer since Sasori.

With the Shinobi war approaching, he would quickly be promoted to Chuunin for the sole purpose of fighting on the frontlines. With years passing by, the woman he had met and brought him to Suna would hand him a note with a smile on her face, telling him to open it only when he had died. She was called off to fight later that month. Izumi never did see the woman again.

Within the note, Izumi would find the hidden location of a gift she had left for him. A puppet with great capability and easy customization. He would name it "Tank"
