Time frame explination
An issue that popped up to my attention in a recent topic was the way time frames work in the process of writing. This is my verdict and it is not up for dispute mostly because I don't particularly feel like hearing the back and forth:
- Things are obviously not instantaneous.
- Time frames are not concrete, meaning the amount of time between posts could be anywhere between 1 second to 1 year depending on whats going on and depending on what was written.
- Be thoughtful of your opponent, obviously you wouldn't launch 9999 jutsu in a single thread because you wouldn't have enough time to complete all of the seals. But 1, 2, or even 3 for extremely low ranking jutsu should be fine. (there's no actual limit, but be respectful and thoughtful)
- Deciding someone shouldn't be able to complete their jutsu due to a time frame is absolutely pointless because time is NOT CONCRETE ON THIS SITE. It flows like water, coming and going when necessary. While that doesn't mean an infinite amount of jutsu should be completed in a miniscule amount of time, it does mean that trying to place it to a timed event would defeat the purpose of a fluid time system.
That being said, there are a couple things that should be thought about before fighting:
- Whether or not someone is hit is completely up to the target, not the attacker. Saying, for example that you hit someone before they completed their seals when they said the seals were completed last post is an absolute no.
- On top of that, swinging an attack at an enemy, then saying it hit for them, is an absolute no.
- Posts occur in a chronological order. Meaning events of post two, happened AFTER post one. You may not do things in post two that affect post one because they happened in the past. However, you may do things in post two that will effect post three. For example:
*Poster one dashes at his enemy in an attempt to prevent incoming hand seals*
*Poster two is unable to complete hand seals because poster one has done something to prevent them*
As you can see here, the seals would be prevented, however, if poster two writes into his own post that he moved away to prevent his seals from being tampered with, then he can follow through as planned. - Understand that for the most part, the site is semi-turnbased. You cannot attack and force the opponent to feel the effect of your attack.
This is my verdict. There are few things on this site that go undisputed. This is one. If you have a better system. PM ME PERSONALLY, we will talk calmly about it with no annoying anger. Any arguments will be ignored completely.
Escaping a Topic
Sometimes the cards are just stacked against you and the whole things rigged from the start... Ain't that a kick in the head? Well just because you're losing, doesn't mean you have to lose the way your enemy wants. You can attempt to escape the topic by typing something similar to "ATTEMPTING TO LEAVE THREAD" at the bottom of your post. Of course you still have to actually type the post of you leaving and they can attempt to intercept you, but if you play it right, you can weasel your way out of the topic nearly safely and sound. Remember to follow the posting order. Poster A -> Poster B -> Poster A -> Poster B. So on so forth.
