Talent Slots
On this site, Talents are powerful abilities that can change the entire direction of a fight with very little cost. As a result, they are not very easy to obtain. There are two types of Talent Slots on characters. Potential Talent slots, and Actual Talent slots. The difference is very simple. Potential Talent slots are slots that have not yet been purchased using experience and Actual Talent slots are slots that have been purchased. (I will explain the purchasing system later). While Potential Talent slots are obtained through ranking up, they may not be filled with an actual talent until they are purchased. Once the slot has been purchased, it will turn into an Actual Talent Slot and training may be completed in order to learn a talent.
Every character may have up to 3 (with bloodline) to four (no bloodline) talents and no more. Upon creation, they will only have one. At Chuunin they will receive their second slot, their third at Jounin and at Kage-Level, they will receive their fourth and final slot (unobtainable for bloodline RPC's). What these slots allow is abilities that your character is able to perform that sets them apart from other ninja. For example, Choji and his family has the ability to expand their body to massive sizes or the Third Hokages ability to see into his magic ball. This allows you to add customization and cool powers to your character while being within reason.
Elements
When fighting an opponent of equal rank with a similar arsenal of Jutsu, you are given several means by which you can become the victor of the fight. One of the most obvious ways to beat your opponent is to try and overpower their techniques by using type advantages. While it may sound tricky, it is actually quite simple. All elements have weaknesses and all elements have strengths. Below is a chart and a table of the elements and their weaknesses, strengths and neutralities. Every character will receive one element point every two ranks. Meaning by the time you are Kage-Level, you will have three total elements. Additionally, one may sacrifice style points for elemental points, however, keep in mind that this trade is irreversible and does not work both ways. One may not trade an element slot for style points.
Element | Strengths | Weaknesses |
Katon (Fire) | Fuuton (Wind) | Suiton (Water) |
Fuuton (Wind) | Raiton (Lightning) | Katon (Fire) |
Raiton (Lightning) | Doton (Earth) | Fuuton (Wind) |
Suiton (Water) | Katon (Fire) | Doton (Earth) |
Doton (Earth) | Suiton (Water) | Raiton (Lightning) |
- Spoiler:
As you can see, no one basic element is strong against them all. They all have weaknesses that can be exploited under the correct conditions. However, don't expect these conditions to always present themselves to you at all times. If you can't control water, to douse fire, try to backpedal or even wait for rainfall to attack your target. Make sure you have the upper hand on your enemy.
